Parents should let kids follow their dreams: Jeev Milkha Singh
New Delhi: The achievement of young golfer Ranveer Saini is very inspiring and should encourage parents to allow their children to follow dreams, celebrated India golfer Jeev Milkha Singh said on Sunday.
The 14-year-old Ranveer became the first Indian to win a gold medal at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles on Saturday. He achieved the feat in GF Golf-Level 2 Alternate Shot Team Play event.
The Gurgaon-based teenager was diagnosed with autism, a neurological disorder characterised by impaired social interaction, at the age of 2. He took to the sport at the age of nine.

"Ranveer has brought honour to the country. He has made India proud with his inspirational achievement. All the children are special to us. His performance shows that the parents must allow their kids to follow their dreams," Jeev said.
Interestingly, Ranveer is distantly related to Jeev's family as he is the son of one of his nephew.
"We as human beings can learnt a lot from this achievement of Ranveer. We can learn that nothing is impossible and the hard work will give you positive results.
One can learn that if desire is there, nothing can stop you from realising your dreams," Jeev said.
Two years ago Saini became the first Indian golfer to win two gold medals at the Asia Pacific World Games.
