Telugu Desam MP Rayapati Sambasiva firm to lose road contract
The decision rests with CM N. Chandrababu Naidu
Hyderabad: Transstoy Company, owned by Telugu Desam MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, which was awarded Rs 298 crore for road widening works from Kakinada to Rajahmundry is in a spot.
The AP roads and buildings department has asked the government to terminate Transstoy’s contract as it has completed just 2 per cent of the work.
According to sources, special chief secretary of the department B. Sambob has sent the file recommending terminating the contract. The decision rests with CM N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Transtory was awarded the work to extend the 62-km canal road between Kakinada and Rajahmundry by the previous Congress government of undivided AP. The road was to be widened to 10.5 metre from the existing 8 metre by June 2015.
