No action against Rishiraj Singh, says Ramesh Chennithala
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Saturday said the home department had decided not to initiate action against Mr Rishiraj Singh, ADGP Armed Police Battalions, in connection with the salute controversy Mr Chennithala said Mr Singh had met him personally and explained his position.
The minister said that he was satisfied with the explanation given by the officer.
“I have informed the chief minister about the decision,” he said and added that the matter should be considered closed.
The ADGP had met Mr Chennithala to explain his position after the home department issued show cause notice to him on the instructions of chief minster who is also in charge of all India service officers in the state.
The salute controversy took place on July 11 when the officer remained seated even after the arrival of home minister on the stage to preside over the passing out parade of women constables in Police Academy in Thrissur.
