Farmer tries to end life over land grab in Telangana
Hyderabad: Unable to bear the pressure from a former minister to grab her land, a woman farmer attempted suicide in front of the Chief Minister’s camp office on Saturday.
P. Yadamma, 42, a farmer from Shadnagar, Mahbubnagar district, complained that a former minister and his daughter had encroached on her land. Security personnel foiled the attempt.
Police said Yadamma sold her piece of land in Shadnagar to the daughter of a former minister but was yet to receive payment. When she asked them to give back her land, they refused. They did not allow her to cultivate the land, police.
The women reportedly came to give a petition to the Chief Minister and attempted suicide by pouring kerosene on herself. The security personnel outside the CM’s camp office noticed her and foiled her attempt.
