Andhra Pradesh is different: Chandrababu Naidu to Centre
The Centre should bear the loss caused to AP by the split
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday requested the Centre not to compare AP with other states in the matter to according special category status.
He said the case of AP was different, and the state bifurcation was done against the consent of the people. The Centre should bear the loss caused to AP by the split.
He was speaking at an extended meeting of the TD here on Saturday. He noted that the 14th Finance Commission had recommended that no state be allotted special status.
He said AP needed the Centre’s financial support to catch up with neighboring states like Telangana, Tamil Nadu and Karanataka. Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru were ahead currently of any city in AP.
