Four men surrender in Chingleput toll plaza murder case
The magistrate ordered remanded them to judicial custody
Chennai: Four men, including the mastermind, surrendered in a magistrate court at Tindivanam on Friday in connection with the murder of a real estate businessman Abinesh Babu from Chennai near the Chingleput toll plaza on Thursday afternoon.
They were identified as lawyer Mohan, 52, who planned the execution, Vinod Kumar, 25, Arun Prabhu, 32, all from Tiruvarur district, and Prem Kumar, 24 of Chengalpet.
The magistrate ordered remanded them to judicial custody. They were later lodged in Vellore prison.
The Chengalpet police are expected to approach the court seeking custody of the four.
The police have already detained three other suspects — Chandru of Nerkundram, Pandi from Koyambedu and Valluvan of Arumbakkam.
Abinesh Babu, who ran Guru Narayana Builders, was heading to Gingee in his car when he was killed by a three-member gang on a bike near the toll plazaon Thursday.
Police said that Abinesh Babu and lawyer Mohan had a dispute over a piece of land valued over Rs 2 crore.
