Vijay Television awards is entering its second edition this year, and it looks like the channel is gearing up for the gala event. There are over 30 categories, such as favourite junior male/female, favourite fiction/nonfiction comedian, best male/female dancer, supporting actor/actress, best actor/actress, best entertainer, best judge male/female, favourite anchor male/female, and favourite show. Those who win those will be awarded mask-shaped trophies. Vijay TV's general manager, K Sriram had tweeted, "Plans on for a Grand Celebrations of Vijay Television awards second year.
The event is tentatively scheduled in the first week of August (sic)." Last year, DD bagged the favourite anchor (Female) award, and Gopinath of Neeya Naana fame received the award for favourite male anchor. An array of stars as well as actors, directors, and technicians from the film industry are expected to grace the occasion, besides the regular crowd mostly comprising the channel's viewers felicitating their favourite artistes.
