Recall ministers: YSR Congress
YSRC demanded Naidu to immediately recall ministers from the Union Cabinet
HYDERABAD: On Friday, Union minister of state for planning, Rao Inderjit Singh, told the Lok Sabha, “There is no question of extending special category status to any state now, as the 14th Finance Commission recommendations were accepted in toto by the Cabinet, and only special developmental packages can be considered.”
Replying to questions asked by Mr Bheemrao B. Patil (TRS, Zaheerabad, Telangana) and Mr Vishnu Dayal Ram (BJP, Palamu in Jharkhand), the minister said, “As a result of higher devolution of taxes to states from 32 per cent to 42 per cent these schemes have been discontinued in the Union Budget from this financial year.”
Meanwhile, reacting to the rejection of the demand for Special Category Status the YSRC on Friday demanded Chief Minister Naidu to immediately recall Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Sujana Chowdary from the Union Cabinet.
CPI secretary K. Ramakrishna said it was high time that Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who had been promising to get the special status, resigned. The AP Cabinet, which met at Vijayawada on Friday, announced that it would continue efforts to get the tag.
