Goodbye Bengaluru, miss you: Police Commissioner MN Reddi
BENGALURU: Police Commissioner M.N. Reddi, who gave a people-friendly face to the city police with his proactive approach to Bengalureans' problems, handed over the baton to his successor N.S. Megharik on Friday evening. A tech-savvy officer who ensured that the city police came of age by moving into the digital era with his initiatives to interact with the people through social media networks like Twitter and Facebook, Reddi has been promoted as DGP.
Like the true Twitter buff, he chose to bid bye to the city with a tweet: “I have been promoted to the rank of DG of Police and posted as DGP, Home Guards, Fire & Emergency Services and Civil Defence, Karnataka St. Many many thanks to the 3.4 million (actually 3.4 lakh) followers of @cpblr & in all the 1 million followers of BCP for ur cooperation, forbearance & support...Good bye dear Bengalurians. Will miss you all!! I will be henceforth available on my personal twitter handle @MNReddi_IPS.”
11 IPS officers transferred
The state government has transferred 11 senior IPS officers on Friday. This includes the promotion and transfer of M.N. Reddi, who was the city Police Commissioner. H.C. Kishore Chandra, who was DGP & Commandant General of Home Guards and Fire Force has been transferred as DGP of the Criminal Investigation Department, replacing Bipin Gopal Krishna, who retired on Friday.
ADGP and city Police Commissionder M.N. Reddi has been promoted to the grade of Director General of Police and is posted as DGP & Commandant General of Home Guards and Fire Force. Praveen Sood, who was ADGP (KSRP) is transferred as ADGP (Administration), replacing Alok Mohan, who has been posted as ADGP (Law & Order), replacing N S Megahrikh, the new city Police Commissioner.
Dr Rajvir Pratap Sharma, ADGP (Railways) is posted as ADGP (Communication, Logistics & Modernisation), replacing Dr S. Parashiva Murthy, who has been posted as ADGP (KSRP). Dr P. Ravindranath, has been posted as ADGP (Police Computer Wing), while T. Suneel Kumar has been transferred as ADGP (Internal Security Division).
