‘Anyone can make a mistake’ - Anushka Sharma
Anushka Sharma perhaps got more flak than she deserved recently when she misspelt late President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s name in a tweet. Commenting about it, she says, “Anyone can make a mistake. The intentions were misconstrued and this is wrong. Also, about blocking people on Twitter, I know there are many who write anything under fake names which is not correct and I wanted to block them. If anyone has any problems they should come ahead and discuss, then I will see.”
Career-wise, however, she is at the top of her game. “I feel that I am at the shiniest phase in my professional life right now. I have also turned producer and this makes me feel proud. I hope this phase continues.”
Asked about her strongest quality, she says, “Honesty! I think it is very important to be honest. Being true to everything and everyone does makes me feel strong. I speak the truth under any circumstances and this keeps me strong from within.”
As the press conference was about her endorsing a product, she says that before endorsing, she always has a few queries. “What is the creativity of the product? Is it propagating anything sexist, racist or anything that is considered a social taboo? “I am lucky that I have always been associated with reputed brands. I will never endorse anything which propagates fairness. I feel it is wrong to do so,” she says.
