Landslides in Nepal bury villages, killing at least 7 people
Heavy monsoon rains in Nepal often trigger landslides in mountain area
Kathmandu: Authorities say landslides in a mountain area of Nepal have buried two villages, killing at least seven people with several more believed to be buried.
The Home Ministry said Thursday that another 13 people were hurt in the landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.
Police said at least four bodies were pulled out of Dudhe village Thursday, and village official Bhesh Raj Parajuli said two bridges connecting the village have been washed away.
The village is 200 kilometers (125 miles) west of Kathmandu.
And police say at least three people have been killed in a landslide at the nearby village of Lumle.
