After lunch, Prathuysha, as she had desired, was taken to a hostel. “What has happened has happened. Past is past. You now have good support. You should utilise the same effectively. Prathyusha to Hyderabad High Court: Punish stepmom
After being discharged from the Gandhi Hospital on Wednesday, Prathyusha, who was rescued from her abusive parents, appeared before a division bench comprising acting Chief Justice Dilip B. Bhosale and Justice S.V. Bhatt of the Hyderabad High Court. The police and the legal officer of the Telangana state escorted her to the High Court after her discharge from the hospital.
The bench decided to speak to her in the Chief Justice’s chamber. The bench had taken up Prathyusha’s case based on a letter by Justice Challa Kodanda Ram of the High Court seeking the court’s intervention to render justice to the victim. The bench interacted with Prathyusha in the presence of AP advocate general P. Venugopal and special counsel for Telangana S. Sharath Kumar.
According to sources, the victim explained the trauma she underwent due to the brutal torture by her parents, particularly her stepmother, and urged the judges to award severe punishment to them so that no parents ever tortured their children again. The bench reportedly told her that the court would take care of the case and asked her to concentrate on her future and studies.

When she expressed her desire to pursue nursing to serve people like her, Mr Sharath Kumar told the judges that it would not be possible to join the course as she had not completed her Intermediate. The bench then asked special counsel to make arrangements for her to join the Intermediate course first and then the nursing course.
Sources disclosed that the judges told special counsel to ensure that she received a part of her father Ramesh Kumar’s salary and also the rent of the double bedroom flat which was in the name of her biological mother, by opening a separate bank account for her. The bench informed Prathyusha that the Fernandez Hospital in the city had came forward to take care of her future and they felt that it would be better for her to accept the hospital’s offer.

The bench said that it was appreciable that despite his busy schedule, the CM and his family visited the victim and offered to help.
