Discontent in Rayalaseema increasing
Anantapur: The pro-Rayalaseema agitation is gaining ground in all parts of the region with the Centre and the AP government ignoring the decentralisation of the development process in AP.
With the AP government concentrating on the development of its capital since a year, no concrete development was seen in the region. The only exception is the celebration of the Independence Day at Kurnool and the TDLP meeting at Tirupati.
Most visits of CM N. Chandrababu Naidu were connected to the Handri Neeva Sujalashravanthi irrigation project. But that got only poor budgetary allocation for its second phase and work is pending at many reaches. The Reorganisation Act got confined to paper after the Centre stopped responding to the issue of special status for the state and packages for Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra similar to Bundelkhand.
