Ifthikar Ali rebuts NGO’s allegations
Bengaluru: Dr Ifthikar Ali, Professor and senate member of RGUHS had denied charges of funds misappropriation made by Ramanand Sagar, President, Bharat Yuvajana Sena. Dr Ifthikar said the allegations were baseless and made by an ‘uneducated person’. He threatened to file a defamation suit against Sagar for tarnishing his image.
He said, “I am sure that he does not have proper information about the same and I am indeed perplexed at my name being drawn in such a manner.” The doctor claimed said he was clueless about the Arogya Rakshana Samiti corpus fund. Sagar had claimed that Ifthikar had violated rules of the corpus fund while purchasing drugs. “I do not even know what this fund is, let alone violating it to purchase drugs,” the doctor said.
“I am a God fearing man and a social worker. People need to respect my profession and not target me and my brother in any way,” the doctor said. He then added, “I have not even made a rupee phone call to anyone regarding all this. They need to have some evidence before dragging my name into such a grave issue.”
