The metropolitan magistrate court at Erramanzil has sentenced 35 drunk drivers
Hyderabad: The metropolitan magistrate court at Erramanzil has sentenced 35 drunk drivers to do three hours of community service each for three days. This is the newest “soft punishment” for being caught with slightly high levels of blood alcohol content. Those which high alcohol content face up to 30 days in jail.
These drunk drivers were caught during an enforcement drive last week and are the top violators among the 312 other offenders caught during the drive. They will now have to turn counsellors and create awareness on the roads at MJ Market and Traffic Police Control Room Nampally. Some 20 others have been sentenced to sit in court for an entire day (detained till rising of court).
