Gauri to direct Alia in KJo film

Gauri Shinde, who made a splash with her debut film English Vinglish, hasn’t signed a single film after that. But she has made an exception for Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Word is that Alia Bhatt will play the female lead in the film.

Says a source, “Karan asked Gauri if she has an actress in mind and they both agreed on Alia. KJo is instrumental in making career choices for Alia ever since the two worked on Student Of The Year.

There will be three newcomers opposite Alia in the film as is the nature of the script, but they are yet to finalise the names.” The film will go on the floors next year.
