New Delhi: Gulf carrier Qatar Airways on Tuesday said it is in talks only with Indian aviation market leader and private low cost carrier IndiGo while dismissing speculation that it is looking for a partnership with another low cost carrier SpiceJet.
In another important development, low cost carrier SpiceJet — which was on the brink of collapse last December after being hit by a severe financial crisis under its previous management — posted its second straight quarterly profit at Rs 71.8 crore in the three months from April to June this year, signalling a financial revival. “Qatar Airways confirms that the only airline it is talking to is the Indian carrier IndiGo,” the Gulf-based carrier was quoted by news agencies as stating.
