Ravi probe fast tracked: CBI chief
Bengaluru: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is almost on the verge of concluding their investigation in the much politicised D.K. Ravi (unnatural death) case. Speaking to the media in an impromptu meeting at the CBI office here, CBI Director Anil Sinha, without giving any details in the ongoing investigation in the case, said that the probe was on “fast track” and they would conclude it soon.
On the lottery scam, which was referred by the state government to the CBI two months ago, Mr Sinha said that he was not sure whether the CBI will accept the case or not.
The CBI is tying up with Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru and National Law School India University for capacity building initiatives, said Mr. Sinha, adding that the expectations from the premier investigating agency are very high and there is a constant endeavour within the agency meet the challenges. “It is a matter of pride for officers to work with the CBI,” said the Director.
He refused to give details of the cases such as mining, Vyapam and Antrix, which are currently being investigated by the CBI.
Mr Sinha was on a day-long visit to Bengaluru to interact with his colleagues here and to formulate strategies to help CBI officers in their official functions, he said. Asked if he was under any political pressure from the Central government in certain cases, he said that there was no pressure from any quarter. “Do I look stressed or under pressure to you?” he asked the media people, in a lighter vein.
