The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed BWSSB to furnish details of the steps

BENGALURU: The Karnataka High Court on Monday directed BWSSB to furnish details of the steps taken to prevent sewage water from entering lakes in the city and polluting them. The court passed the directions while hearing a plea by Citizens Action Group and sought to know the steps taken in the wake of its orders. It also directed BBMP and Lake Development Authority (LDA) to co-ordinate with BWSSB in the matter.

Fill Up KAT Posts
The high court on Monday asked the state government to take appropriate steps to fill key posts in the Karnataka Administrative Tribunal (KAT). The court passed the directions after it was informed that apart from the existing vacancy of an administrative member, the acting chairman, who is also an administrative member (retired IAS officer) will be retiring in October. The court was hearing the PIL filed by one D. Pavanesh and others.

Did ‘God’ want temples on roads?
The high court on Monday expressed its displeasure while hearing a plea alleging that a temple was constructed by encroaching on a public road in Tyagarajanagar first main. The court observed, “Why are temples and worships places being built on the road? Did God want places of worship to be built by encroaching on public roads?”The high court later directed police officials to ensure free movement of traffic.
