Supreme Court panel in Telangana to check toilets
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court panel’s visit to Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s home district Medak to examine toilets and drinking water facilities in government schools has kept the state and district administration on its toes.
The three-member committee is scheduled to tour Telangana districts for two weeks from Monday and will visit Medak on July 29 for three days to check whether the SC’s order to provide toilets and drinking water in schools under the Right to Education Act has been implemented or not.
In January, the apex court had taken the state to task for the dismal state of toilets in Telangana state and had summoned the secretary of School Education department.
Following this, the Telangana government had issued orders to the Medak administration to provide toilets and drinking water facilities.
