Drunkard killed by family members in Vizianagaram district
Family attacked inebriated Guruvulu and murdered him by slitting his throat at his residence
Visakhapatnam: Fed up with the frequent harassment and torture by a habitual offender, family members murdered the offender by slitting his throat with a knife at Jiyyannavalasa under Bondapalli police station limits in Vizianagaram district on Saturday night. The murder came to light when the cops arrested one of the accused persons when they were shifting the body in an autorickshaw to bury it at an isolated place near JNTU Vizianagaram.
The deceased was identified as Ch. Guruvulu, 40, who was involved in ma-ny property offences since 2007 in various police stations limits in Vizianagaram, Pusapatirega, Bhogapuram in the district. Guruvulu was addic-ted to alcohol and had been picking up fights with his family members for money to consume more liquor. Vexed with harassment, Guruvulu’s brothers Ch. Adinarayana, Ch. Mutyalu and cousin Ch. Pentayya Naidu had decided to eliminate him.
On Saturday night, they attacked inebriated Guruvulu and murdered him by slitting his throat at his residence. They shifted the body to an isolated place to bury it.
Sub-inspector of Bonda-palle, J. Tarakeswara Rao said that someone called up Dial 100 and informed the shifting of the body in an auto. Based on the information, Vizianaga-ram rural police rushed to the spot and arrested Adinarayana and recovered the body from the spot. However, two more accused managed to flee from the spot. Viziana-garam rural cops registered a case.
