Stories with the forest as a backdrop always fascinate filmmakers though much has not been explored in this genre. Debutant Kuberji, a self-taught man who has not worked under any director, has attempted an intense love story titled Aaranyam which has the setting of a forest.
The movie is produced by four friends Ram, Subash, Dinesh and Nanak, under ‘Aaha Oho’ banner, a name derived from the famous dialogue of late comedian Nagesh from the hit film Kaadhalikka Neramillai. The film has been shot extensively in the several dense woods in the country including Chalakudy, as well as foreign terrains, in the forests of Thailand.
“The exotic and enchanting forests have been neatly filmed by cinematographer Salai Sahadevan. The whole movie will be a new experience for Tamil audiences. That, along with quirky ideas, is a safe bet in K’town. I am confident that people will love our film,” the director claims. The lead pair is played by newbie Ram and Neeraja Shaji. The supporting cast includes Ilavarasu, Singamuthu and Sri Hema.
