Makers of 'Drishyam' come up with interesting marketing strategy
Mumbai: Shrouded in mystery, suspense and drama - Drishyam is all set for its release this weekend. Garnering nearly a million hits within a day of the trailer launch on social media, the film has been backed by an intriguing marketing campaign - further heightening the anticipation for its release. Teasing the audiences, special video capsules of opposing character testimonials were created for the digital viewer asking the question - Vijay Salgaonkar, framed or guilty?
While this activity sparked interesting conversations across platforms, ‘real news’ front page covers were created across key metros through strategic media alliances with newspapers that were distributed at theatres.
Extending the sentiment of a common man going to any length to protect his family in an engaging on ground campaign in multiplexes, audiences were given a chance to pose in a manner similar to the Drishyam poster. The activity was called ‘What’s your Drishyam’.
With an intense, impactful performance from Ajay Devgn and Tabu’s powerful tough cop act, this film is directed by National award winner - Nishikant Kamat. Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Panorama Studios, Drishyam releases on July 31st.
