We will ask BCCI to revoke ban: TC Mathew

“Once the ban is lifted it will be up to the selectors to decide,” Mr Mathew said
Kochi: Contradicting the BCCI’s adamant ruling in S Sreesanth’s acquittal was the response from the Kerala Cricket Association that has vowed to do everything in its power to help the speedster get back in the game.
“He lost two years of his career, when he was in his prime,” said BCCI vice-president and KCA president TC Mathew. “Our next step would be to bring him back to active cricket at the earliest.”
Even as the Board released a statement ruling out the return of the temperamental world cup winner, Mr Mathew said the KCA will write to the BCCI, requesting them to lift the life-ban. “We will discuss with our lawyers and then write to the BCCI president and secretary to lift the ban so that he can try to make himself available for Kerala as well as Indian cricket team,” he said.
The BCCI had imposed a life-ban on Sreesanth for his alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the IPL in September 2013. “His comeback need not be straightaway into Ranji cricket as there are so many other tournaments. Once the ban is lifted it will be up to the selectors to decide,” Mr Mathew said.
