Municipal workers call off strike in AP
Some of the important demands accepted by the state government include: hike in wages
Rajamahendravaram: Municipal workers have called off their strike and will resume work from Sunday in the state as the talks held with the state government concluded successfully with an assurance to effect hike in wages worth Rs 2,700 to contract and outsourcing workers and PRC to regular workers.
Minister for finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, minister for municipal administration P. Narayana and minister for labour K. Achennaidu held talks with the representatives of joint action committee of state municipal workers union represented by A. Ranganayu-kulu and Uma Maheswara Rao.
Some of the important demands accepted by the state government include: hike in wages to the tune of Rs 2,700 to contract and outsourcing worker and implementation of PRC to regular workers on par with NGOs, no cut in wages for the strike period of 16 days and the workers will compensate the work during holidays for 16 days, health cards to be issued and provident fund benefit.
