Chennai: Man held for sending porn clips of girlfriend
Chennai: A 27-year-old management executive, who sent porn clips and pictures taken with his estranged girlfriend to her husband and relatives to seek vengeance, was arrested by the cyber crime wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police on Saturday. The accused, H. Vimalnath, a resident of Perambur, works as a management executive at a private firm in Hyderabad, police said.
Investigations revealed that the accused was in a relationship with the woman from Tirumullaivoyal until a year ago. The woman walked out of the relationship after she learnt of the accused’s changed behaviour and also an unfavorable match of their horoscopes, according to a CCB officer. Following this, she married a relative of her’s nine months ago. Her husband is now working abroad.
Meanwhile, in vengeance, Vimalnath created a ‘fake profile’ on Facebook with the woman’s name and managed to add her friends and relatives to the ‘fake’ account. The unsuspecting relatives too chatted away with Vimalnath assuming it to be the woman’s profile and in due time, the accused got the mobile number of her husband and other relatives.
“Vimalnath initially started sending pictures he had taken with the girl, when they were in a relationship, to her husband through Whatsapp. “After the woman’s husband ignored the pictures and texts sent by him, he started sending porn clips,” a CCB officer said. He sent similar clips to the woman’s relatives also, putting them through trauma after which the woman approached the city police commissioner S. George with a petition.
The CCB Inspector Melwyn Raja Singh arrested the accused Vimalnath on Saturday. He was booked under sections 67(A) of IT Act and 506(i) of IPC and was produced before a city court that remanded him to judicial custody.
