Study offers overview of top 15 workplace trends shaping talent management

Chennai: A study done by Randstad India says that 59 per cent of HR leaders use online social and professional networks to directly contact professionals to recruit them.

The study titled “Talent Trends Report–HR Game Changers” offers an overview of the top 15 workplace trends that would shape talent management this year and beyond.

According to the report, 78 per cent of HR leaders in IT companies think organizations will need to create greater flexible working options to attract increasingly mobile workforce, besides 76 per cent feel that the war for talent is getting fiercer than ever and the term reflects today’s business and talent environment.

Elaborating on the findings of the report, Moorthy K. Uppaluri, managing director and chief executive officer (CEO), Randstad India, said a multi-generational and diverse workplace, the new war for talent and rapidly evolving technology innovations are factors playing in tandem to transform HR.

The study also said that 61 per cent respondents felt that a strong employer brand and reputation of an organization were the most critical factor to be successful in attracting top talent. An HR executive in an IT company said that social media portals, including Facebook and professional networks like LinkedIn have become an effective tool for employers to select their prospective employees. IT companies create specific domain based community in LinkedIn and select the best candidate with his interaction in the community.
