Salim Khan calls Salman's tweets about Yakub Memon 'ridiculous and meaningless'

In a series of tweets, Salman said Tiger Memon should be paraded and hanged

Salman Khan who has no qualms in expressing his thoughts on social networking sites, had voiced his opinions against Tiger Memon in a series of tweets. He slamed the absconding Mumbai serial blast accused, saying it was he who should be hanged and not his brother Yakub Memon. He also appealed to Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to send Tiger to India if he is in his country.

Salim was quoted by ibnlive.com, "Whatever Salman has written is ridiculous and meaningless. Salman is ignorant of the issue and people should not take him seriously." Salim also spoke out against capital punishment for Yakub Memon, he said, “Yakub should be kept in jail rather be hanged. Keeping him alive is a bigger punishment."

Speaking to ANI, BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha said, “Agar usne aisa kaha hai to aap uski bhaavnayon ko samajhiye.” (If he has said this, you should understand his emotions).

Actor Raza Murad, said: “That's Salman's personal opinion and he has a right to express opinion as a citizen of democratic nation.” Whereas, lawyer Abha Singh questioned Salman's statement. She said, “Salman himself is a convict who has been given a punishment of 5 years, still he has the audacity to say Yakub is innocent. Is he trying to question judicial system of country? His statement is very improper & against rule of law.”
