St Peter’s champions
Global Indian International School, Peerzadiguda and St Peter’s School, Bowenpally won the under-13 and under-15 final matches respectively in the third M.K.’s South Zone Inter School league-cum-knockout Cricket tournament here.
St Peter’s defeated host Delhi Public School, Nacharam by four wickets in a thriller. Set to score 115, St Peter’s School reached there with just one ball to spare. Ganesh played a key role in the chase, scoring 44 in just 34 balls, hitting five fours and a six. Harsh Vardhan was also among runs with 20 in 21 balls.
Geeth and Anirudh picked two wickets each for Delhi Public School. Earlier, Delhi Public School won the toss and opted to bat. Koushik’s 36 and Amruth’s 29 helped them post 114 for 9 in 15 overs. Harsha Vardhan was the pick of the bowlers for St Peter's with figures of 2 for 22.
In the under 13-final, Global Indian International School, Peerzadiguda won the game against Delhi Public School, Bangalore East by six wickets. Batting first, DPS made 107 for 7 in 15 overs.
Sravan top scored with an unbeaten 42 and Vishnu took 3/15 in three overs. Global Indian International School chased down the target in 14.5 overs, losing just four wickets. Gnana Prakash’s blistering knock of 41 in 26 balls and Pranay Sai’s composed innings of 37 helped them clinch the game.
