Bengaluru: Residents move high court against eatery

They have sought to quash the trade licence of the restaurant alleging that it was located in a residential area

Bengaluru: An eatery -154 Breakfast Club located in Koramangala is in trouble as the Koramangala Resident's Welfare Association have filed a petition against it in the high court. They have sought to quash the trade licence of the restaurant alleging that it was located in a residential area.

The high court while admitting the petition on Friday, has issued notice to the state government, BBMP, BDA, and Hivemind cafe and studios, which is running the restaurant. It is owned by Pranav Pai, son of Mohandas Pai, B.PAC vice-president, Nishyarth Prasad and Anil Shetty.

According to petitioners, the trade licence granted to the restaurant was illegal. “It is in violation of Section 14 of Karnataka Town and Country Planning Act 1961, as well as the zonal regulations,” they said.
