Newborn baby’s throat was slit

Kottayam: The post-mortem conducted on the body of the new-born girl, which was found from near the Olokkary paddyfield on Wednesday, has confirmed that the child was killed by slitting her neck. A deep wound made by a knife was seen on the neck of the body, according to sources from the forensic department of Kottayam MCH.

The police suspect that the baby was killed and abandoned as she was born out of illegitimate relationship. “We will register a case for homicide after finding the parents,” said police sources.
