False rumours were spread about me: Taapsee Pannu

Hyderabad: Taapsee Pannu, who has had two releases in Tamil this year, has a couple of promising flicks in her kitty. The actress says she has been enjoying her current phase in K’town — loving her stay in the city after a long time, shooting for films and attending events. According to her, the short hiatus from Tamil films wasn’t intentional and she feels that many had tried to sabotage her career in the past.

She says, “There were widespread rumours about me that I’m not accessible to filmmakers and producers here, and that my priority has been Bollywood since I made my entry into the latter. I found it difficult to come out and clarify every now and then that I’m open to Tamil flicks. After all, my first film in Kollywood, Aadukalam, won a lot of recognition. So, how can I say no to the industry?”

Taapsee says that she isn’t a social person who likes hanging out with people from movie circuit, and thinks that could also be a reason why she wasn’t able to convey the fact that she was very much approachable by K’town. “Some people took advantage of my absence here while I was occupied with movies in Tollywood and Bollywood. In fact, many filmmakers, after knowing the facts, told me how they have been hearing false news about me. But I understand it is a competitive industry and that it’s all part of the game. I moved on and am happy that I’m back to K’town with more films.”
