Mumbai: Actor Emraan Hashmi has begun shooting for former Indian cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin's biopic, "Azhar". The actor took to Twitter to make the announcement and also asked his fans for their good wishes.

Prachi Desai has also been cast opposite Emraan in the film as Azharuddin’s wife Naureen. The actress is currently on a vacation in London, and will commence shooting the film once she returns.
The film will reportedly highlight the cricketers much-talked about affair and marriage to actress Sangeeta Bijlani. Nargis Fakhri has been roped in to play that role.
Towards the end of his career the Azhar was accused of match-fixing, which will also be another major focus of the film. 'Azhar' is directed by Tony D’Souza. Scripted by Rajat Aroraa. The film slated to release on 13 May 2016.
