Congress ups the ante

PM was earlier seen sharing pleasantries with Opposition leaders in the Upper House

New Delhi: The standoff in the Lok Sabha took a turn for the worse, after BJP MP Prahlad Joshi raked up the issue of Mr Robert Vadra having allegedly ridiculed Parliament in a Facebook post.

Prime Minister was earlier seen sharing pleasantries with Opposition leaders in the Upper House. The Rajya Sabha was adjourned twice in the morning and later adjourned for the day.

Making it clear there would be no let-up in its campaign, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi told reporters that there would be “no discussion without resignations”. He also claimed Ms Sushma Swaraj was a “criminal” for having “committed the crime of helping a fugitive”.

He was, incidentally, accidentally hit by a TV microphone in the eye. In the Lok Sabha, it was a field day for the display of placards even though the Speaker had on warned of disciplinary action.
