Supreme Court asks CBI to submit Vyapam investigation schedule by July 31
New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to submit the entire schedule of investigation in cases related to the Vyapam scam by July 31.
"Today the court took up the matter of Digvijay Singh and passed an order that the CBI should indicate to the court by next Friday the entire schedule of taking over of cases. We all feel that the cases must be taken over by the CBI at earliest," said senior advocate Vivek Tankha.
"The court has asked the CBI to appoint independent prosecutors in the Supreme Court, High Court and trial court so that there can be impartiality in the entire proceeding," he added.
Tankha further said that the decision whether the apex court will monitor the Vyapam investigation or not will be taken during the next hearing.
"The court is not averse to monitoring the case subject to it deciding modalities of monitoring and who would monitor. The court will decide on this on next Friday," he said.
