Andhra University to hold meet for elderly
University Vice-Chancellor released the poster on HUG-Help Unite Generations
Visakhapatnam: Help Age India, Sneha Sandhya, AU Centre for Gerontology and Department of Social Work of Andhra University, will be jointly organising a programme to Help Unite Generations (HUG) on July 25.
University Vice-Chancellor Prof. G.S.N. Raju released the poster on HUG-Help Unite Generations here on Thursday. This programme is being organised to provide a platform wherein elderly persons and youngsters bond together, share views and exchange HUG-bands and contact details to help stay in touch.
This programme is initiated to make all people become aware of the importance of accepting the elderly people as important members of the family and spending time with them which in effect is a great gift in kind to the elderly. The Vice-Chancellor said that the youngsters should take care of the senior citizens and support them by all means in their prime time.
