Lucknow: In an unprecedented move, 24 ministers and MLAs in the Akhilesh government have been pressurising Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) to give a big plot of land to a deputy director ranks officer. These ministers and legislators have not only been telephoning the LDA officials for the favor but have even written letters seeking the favor for the official.
Even the offices of chief secretary, principal secretary housing and principal secretary to the CM have written letters for the officer. The officer in question is Raja Singh Yadav, deputy director in the agriculture department.
An LDA official said, “This is the first time that so many VVIPs have written seeking favor for one officer. You can imagine the clout he enjoys in the government simply by counting the letters and telephone calls that keep pouring in for his plot. We are even being summoned by the chief minister’s office to explain the progress in his case”.
Mr Yadav already owns a plot no. 1/163 in Gomti Nagar Extension and he was given an additional adjoining plot measuring 46 sq meters when the layout was altered....
