Anantapur: In a shocking incident, Vimala, 18, a minor girl of Muthuvakuntla Tanda had committed suicide after she was allegedly cheated by principal of a private college in Ramagiri mandal in Anantapur district on Wednesday.
Sources said that the girl had recently completed intermediate at a private college in Dharmavaram. The college principal had allegedly lured the girl during journey between Dharmavaram and Ramagiri.
The principal's wife had recently lodged a complaint against her husband at Ramagiri police station over affair with the student. The girl's parents took the girl back to their village and lodged at another tanda in Kanaganapalli mandal. The girl had committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Wednesday.
Police sources said, a case was registered based on the complaint lodged by the parents of the girl. The parents said that the girl was suffering fr-om fits and committed suicide due to weakness.
Kanganapalli police said the case is under investigation and body was sent for post-mortem. Meanwhile students organisations demanded stringent action against the principal of private college who was threatening parents from revealing facts about the incident.
