Camera contest: OnePlus 2 up against the Samsung Galaxy S6
The unveiling of the OnePlus 2 Android smartphone is just around the corner and all eyes are waiting on the calendar for the event on July 27, 2015. The Chinese startup tech company, OnePlus, shook the entire smartphone industry with the launch of the OnePlus One, which brought a great build, high performance, loads of features and very reasonable price to the masses. This through the rival smartphone brands into a tizzy, forcing them to keep up with the competition.
At present, OnePlus has announced that the next handset from the stable will definitely keep up its standards to what it pronounced in the first version. At present, the company has been leaking out a few specifications about the OnePlus 2, which included a Snapdragon 810 chipset, USB Type-C connector, and a few others. However, the display, camera and storage specifications are not yet revealed and market watchers, critics and online rumours point to a 2K display and a 16MP rear camera. If true, the rear camera must live up to its expectations, if it has to keep the similar respect it had when the OnePlus One was launched. The One had a great camera and outperformed almost all smartphones in the category.
According to a recent rumour outbreak that the OnePlus will be sold for $499 (on OPPOMART), the specifications revealed that the 2 will sport a 16MP camera. While pitting the camera’s performance against the recently launched iPhone 6 would be unrealistic, it would be best if the photos are compared to an equal contender. The Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have a 16MP camera and are said to have one of the best camera performances in the industry, till date. OnePlus recently released a few comparison images between the two smartphones and we bring them to you here. Check out the camera performances of the two handsets, the OnePlus 2 (on the left) and the Samsung Galaxy S6 (on the right. We leave you to judge the differences and pronounce the winner of the best camera performance. Do note, the camera performance tests are done by OnePlus themselves and not a third person.
