Disqualify P C George, Kerala Congress (M) to speaker N Sakthan

The letter was handed over by Chief Whip and KC(M) leader Thomas Unniyadan

Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Congress (M) has submitted a letter to Speaker N. Sakthan seeking Mr P.C. George’s disqualification as MLA as is no longer attached to the party.

The letter was handed over by Chief Whip and KC(M) leader Thomas Unniyadan. It said since Mr George had left the party on his own, he should be disqualified.
It said that Mr George had also given a letter seeking permission to take an independent stand in the Assembly which was clearly anti-party. Moreover, by fielding a candidate under the banner of his outfit Anti- Corruption Democratic Front (ACDF) and campaigning for him in Aruvikkara, he had violated the Anti- Defection Law .
The KC(M) high-power committee headed by Mr Joy Abraham, Rajya Sabha MP, had recommended that Mr George should be disqualified. Earlier, the KC (M) had suspended him from the party because of his anti-party activities. Meanwhile, Mr George remained defiant. He said he would teach the KC(M) leadership what People’s Representation Act is all about.
