BJP snubs Shanta Kumar for ‘mann ki baat’

He wrote a letter to party chief Amit Shah demanding for a Lokpal
New Delhi: As the BJP and the Narendra Modi government is trying desperately to fend off the Opposition onslaught over the scams and controversies surrounding its ministers and top leaders, veteran BJP leader and MP Shanta Kumar has raised a banner of revolt by dropping a “letter bomb” in which he has demanded a party “lokpal” to tackle the cases of corruption like Vyapam which has “made all of us bow our heads in shame”.
In a letter to BJP president Amit Shah, the veteran leader has also referred to allegations in “some states”, hinting at controversies in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje is facing allegations over Lalit Modi, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan over Vyapam, and in Maharashtra there are allegations of corruption against minister Pankaja Munde.
The BJP, however, snubbed Shanta Kumar, saying he had been carried away by Congress “propaganda”. “What as a BJP worker I thought is right I told. We feel proud of our achievements and when the party is stained, then we feel pained... I with simplicity and without any fear put forth my mann ki baat,” he said.
