2 lakh houses soon for poor: KCR
KCR also decided that flowering plants will be planted along city roads
Hyderabad: TS Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has promised to construct two lakh two-bedroom houses for the poor in Hyderabad in a phased manner. He also decided that flowering plants will be planted along city roads, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao who participated in the Kalyanotsavam at the Yellamma temple at Balkampet here along with wife Sobha, later made a surprise visit to Indiranagar, which falls in the Sanathnagar and Kukatpally Assembly constituencies, and interacted with residents.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao was accompanied by ministers T. Padma Rao and T. Srinivas Yadav and GHMC commissioner Somesh Kumar. “There are about two lakh families living in abject poverty in slums and other places in Hyderabad. I promise you I will construct two-bedroom houses for you to make a decent living. The government will take up construction in a phased manner, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said.
He told Mr Somesh Kumar to get the layouts for the dwellings drawn up soon. For the benefit of Muslim community living opposite the Hyderabad Public School, the Chief Minister promised to construct a community hall. Mr Chandrasekhar Rao also drove along the Outer Ring Road to inspect the Haritha Haaram tree plantation drive and visited Kandlakoya near Medchal and the HMDA nursery at Ghatkesar.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao inquired with officials about the availability of flowering plants that could add colour to Hyderabad. He asked officials to plant at least two lakh flowering plants on either side of the Outer Ring Road.
