Mumbai: About a month ago Vidya Balan revealed that she would be happy to play the legendary Charlie Chaplin on screen. When inaugurating a special Chaplin exhibit in the city she said, “I would love to do a Charlie Chaplin movie. I loved Sridevi as Charlie Chaplin in Mr. India. He has been a huge inspiration in my life.”
It looks like the actress’ wish has finally been fulfilled. According to reports the actress has been approached by Malayalam filmmaker R Sarath to play Chaplin in a Hindi movie.
The film in question is not a biopic, but a work of fiction. Sarath reportedly spoke about the idea with Vidya during the inauguration of the exhibit, and the actress was very excited about the challenging role.
In her film ‘Bobby Jasoos’, Vidya donned several disguises, and was able to captivate the audience with her brilliant performance. We can’t wait to see the final outcome of the film.
