Three in an over, Mustafizur Rahman stuns South Africa
Chittagong: Bangladesh’s latest swing sensation Mustafizur Rahman – who announced his arrival with his exploits against India (his debut ODI series) – rattled the Proteas in the first Test here on Tuesday. On a placid pitch, the 19-year-old took a triple-wicket maiden.

South Africa won the toss and chose to bat. All their top-order batsmen were among runs but could not consolidate in the middle overs.

The tourists kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Mustafizur’s spell pushed them downhill, with three regular batters shown the door in a span of few minutes.
Skipper Hashim Amla (13), who was building a partnership with Temba Bavuma, was the first one to depart. He edged a full delivery behind and gifted the bowler his first Test wicket.

Jean-Paul Duminy (0) walked in next and was trapped leg-before on the very next ball. The umpire, initially, wasn’t convinced but the youngster asked for a review and claimed his second.

Though he missed the hat-trick as the next ball was kept out by new man Quinton De Kock. But there was no stopping Mustafizur, he disturbed the southpaw’s off-stump in the fourth ball.
As Bangladesh’s bowling coach Heath Streak said, this young man is special and needs to be taken care of.
Brief scores: South Africa 248 all out (T Bavuma 54, F du Plessis 48; M Rahman 4/37, J Hossain 3/53) against Bangladesh 7/0 (2.0)
