Students protest, seek jobs

Tension prevailed as students tried to storm into the TSPSC building
Hyderabad: Scores of students and unemployed persons on Monday laid siege to the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) office to protest the failure of the government in releasing a single job notification after a year in power.
A Telangana Students and Unemployed JAC, comprising the ABVP, NSUI, TNSF and BC Students Union among others, has been formed to intensify the agitation.
“The Telangana agitation was all about funds, water and jobs. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had promised to fill lakhs of jobs if Telangana state is formed. Relying on his promises, students rallied behind him, fought for statehood and ensured his party’s victory in the polls. After one year, not a single job has been filled while four members in his family have got jobs. How far is this justified,” asked JAC chairman J. Kalyan.
Tension prevailed as students tried to storm into the TSPSC building. Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the agitating students.
