Bengaluru: Rain throws traffic out of gear
Bengaluru: Heavy rain lashed Bengaluru late on Monday evening, throwing normal life out of gear and causing traffic jams across the city during the rush hour.
BBMP officials said that complaints of water logging were reported in Cambridge Layout, Domlur, Anil Kumble Junction, M.G. Road, BTM Layout, Tyagihengalrayan Junction, Mekhri Circle Underpass, Malleswaram 18th Cross, Garuda Mall Junction, Anepalya Junction, Minerva Circle, KG Road and Central Silk Board Junction.
Heavy traffic during the evening rush hour on the first day of the week and rain filled roads led to gridlocks on many thoroughfares. In Annasandra Palya in Mahadevapura zone, sewage entered a few homes after open drains overflowed.
The Met department officials said that the city recorded 25.5 mm rain while HAL received 26.7 mm and it was expected to rain over the next two or three days.
