Hyderabad gold shops to push sales
Gold shops and showrooms are hoping for a slight pick up in sales due to the dip
Hyderabad: With the decline in gold prices, gold jewellery retailers in the city are offering discounts to woo customers to clear their inventory. According to a gold shopkeeper, they were expecting the price to come down next month. “However, the price crashed little ahead of the expected time.”
The dip from Saturday to Monday is substantial with Rs 1,000 per 10 grams of 24 carat gold, forcing retailers to offer discounts. Messages like ‘Gold rate has crashed’, ‘Don’t miss the lowest prices’, ‘Gold rush with making charges of Rs 9 to Rs 99 per gram’ from gold shops are flooding customers.
Gold shops and showrooms are hoping for a slight pick up in sales due to the dip. “Prices are going to go down further. But how long the prices will fall is not known,” said Mohanlal Gupta, advisor, Twin Cities Gold Jewelers Association.
