Hyderabad: Thieves stole jewellery worth Rs 50,000 from a temple in Bacharam village in Hayathnagar area. The incident happened at the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple located on a hill top.
Police said Lakshmi-narasimha Temple and Sri Venkateshwara Temple are located on an isolated hill on the outskirts of Bacharam village. On Saturday evening the priest locked the doors of the temple and went to his home in Bacharam.
Police suspect the theft happened on Saturday midnight. “Thieves broke open the locks of the Lakshminarasimha Swamy temple and stole gold jewellery. They also took away the crowns of the deities and also tried to break the offerings box, but failed,” said Hayathnagar inspector P. Srinivasulu.
