Telangana, Andhra Pradesh staff options for their native states

450 AP staff were allotted to TS

Hyderabad: Over 93 per cent employees with Telangana nativity and over 91 per cent with AP nativity have opted for their own states while giving ‘options’ to the Kamalnathan Committee as part of ongoing division of staff between AP and TS.

However, more TS employees were allotted to AP than those who have given options to AP. Nearly 415 AP native employees were allotted to TS so far.

While AP native emplo-yees are more in number in higher positions like deputy commissioners, deputy directors, section officers, assistance section officers etc, the Telangana native emplo-yees are more in number in Group-IV posts like drivers, attendants among others.

With this, the committee is allotting TS native Group-IV employees to AP though they gave option for TS. Similarly, AP native employees in higher positions are being allotted to TS against their option for AP.

Several employees are lodging complaints with the committee for allotting them against their option. Though the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, has the provision for state-cadre employees of undivided AP, to choose between TS and AP, by giving their options, the committee is not considering only ‘options’ as final criterion for allotment. It is taking into consideration the seniority of employees and availability of same cadre posts in each state before allotment.

The bifurcation of nearly 15,000 employees has been completed so far. Of them, only 250 employees with TS nativity gave options for AP. But the committee has allotted 1,200 TS native employees to AP.

Out of 8,000 Telangana native employees, 7,750 gave options to TS and 250 gave for AP. But the committee has allotted 1,200 TS staff to AP.

Similarly, out of 7,000 AP native employees, 6,500 gave AP option, while the rest 500 gave TS option. The committee has allotted 450 AP staff to TS. Nearly 250 TS and 150 AP native staff gave no options at all.
