No adequate land for Pharma City in Ranga Reddy
Hyderabad: The State revenue officials have found that only 2,000 acres of the proposed 11,000 acres are available for the proposed Pharma City in Mucherla, in Ranga Reddy district on the outskirts of the city.
A survey carried out by the revenue department found that a major portion of the land was controlled by private people who were demanding the market rate of Rs 15 lakh per acre to vacate.
A senior officer of the revenue department said, “Our initial survey shows that there are people who have illegally occupied the land. The government is not keen to take action on them as it does not want confrontations to spoil the investor environment.”
For this reason the state government is willing to talk to the people and work out a compensation, he said.
Another senior officer said that talks had been initiated. To ensure that the remaining 2,000 acres are not encroached upon, a compound wall is being constructed and markings have been done. “Securing the rest of the land is definitely going to be a big challenge,” he said.
